SnapEyes Privacy Policy
Last Updated: March 6, 2026
This policy applies to all information collected or submitted on SnapEyes app.
Information We Collect
SnapEyes does not collect, store, or transmit personal information to our servers. All user data — including scan history, preferences, and settings — is stored locally on your device.
Camera and Photo Library Access
The app requests access to your camera and photo library solely for the purpose of capturing or selecting images for AI-powered object identification. These images are never uploaded to our servers.
Third-Party AI Services
When you perform a scan, the selected image is sent directly to the AI provider you have chosen (Anthropic/Claude or Google/Gemini) for analysis. This transmission is necessary to provide the identification service. Each AI provider has its own privacy policy governing how they handle image data: • Anthropic: https://www.anthropic.com/privacy • OpenAI: https://openai.com/privacy • Google: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Advertising
The app uses Google AdMob to display banner advertisements. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data in accordance with Google's advertising policies. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.
Data Storage and Deletion
All scan history and preferences are stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage mechanisms. You can delete individual scan records or clear all history at any time from within the app. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.
No Tracking or Analytics
SnapEyes does not use any analytics, tracking, or telemetry services beyond what is required by the AdMob advertising SDK.
Children's Privacy
SnapEyes does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Camera data
What camera data is this app collecting? for what purposes are you collecting this information? and how do we use it?
In order to identify your camera photo, we need to send your photo to our AI model for analysis, and get some result back, then the photo will be discarded from our server.
Will the data be shared with any third parties?
No, we don't share anything with any third parties.
Where will this information be stored?
- Yes we save your photo locally on your device for history records, we won't save anywhere remotely. The local saved photo is only for history look up, keep only to your device.
- The camera is activated only when you take photo, once camera is closed, all camera data is cleared from memory.
Other technical basics
- If you enable notifications, we must store a token to send them. We never use notifications for marketing.
- If you use Google Drive, we must store a token of your Google account, but not email or password. The token is only used for next time you open the app, we never use it for other purposes.
- If you upload files to this app, we store it in the sandbox document area, which is safe on iOS level, not accessible to other apps.
- If you import files from album, we need access to your album and only import images, no videos.
Ads and analytics
- SnapEyes app collects aggregate, anonymous statistics, such as the percentage of users who use particular features, to improve the app.
- No personal data is used to target SnapEyes’s ads. Each ad collects, and shares with its advertiser, only three numbers: total views, total taps, and total subscriptions from the ad.
